What up, a-holes? It’s a new week and a new article from everyone’s favorite movie blog, B-Movie Enema! This week, Roberta Findlay returns with her 1987 horror-thriller Blood Sisters. What’s the big deal about that? Well, Findlay is one of a handful of female exploitation horror directors that were known from the 70s and 80s. While many worked for Robert Corman, Findlay actually worked more closely with her husband, Michael Findlay.

Michael Findlay was part of an underground movement on the east coast of directors who worked on early slasher films that were crude and incredibly violent. He married Roberta and she often worked as his cinematographer and directed films on her own as well. The couple met and befriended George Weiss, the producer of Ed Wood’s infamous Glen or Glenda. He suggested they continued down the path of violent sexploitation.

They did, however, while Michael continued to pursue violent sexploitation slashers, Roberta also would dabble quite a bit in both horror and porno. Michael would ultimately be killed in a terrible helicopter accident in which he was waiting to board a helicopter on top of the Pan Am building in 1977. The chopper turned over and the blades hit him and a couple other passengers waiting to get on board. The ghastly news report revealed that he was “literally cut to pieces” but the truth was that he only had deep lacerations that led to his death.

Kevin Hart. What a funny little fella. He gets up on screen, bugs his eyes out when he’s tellin’ jokes, screams… He seems like an overall pretty good dude. Tiffany Haddish is someone I find quite attractive too. She’s known for being pretty funny as well. What on Earth are they doing on this blog? What could they have possibly done to draw an article on B-Movie Enema?

Wait. Hang on a second. I’ve got some new information coming across my desk about this week’s article. Oh. Okay. I see. Gotcha.

Looks like I watched the wrong Night School. Well son of a bitch. I watched the 2018 comedy starring Hart and Haddish. I should have been watching the 1981 slasher directed by Ken Hughes. One moment while I go and rectify this shit.

Just a couple weeks ago, I did an article on Savage Weekend. That’s a much maligned slasher that often gets a bad reputation for being a poor horror film with bad characters. I didn’t have that same opinion. In fact, I rather liked it.

Or, rather, there was one particular person in the movie that I rather liked – Caitlin O’Heaney.

In the world of horror, this week’s featured flick, He Knows You’re Alone, is the one Ms. O’Heaney is best known for. She has an interesting life. She was a trained and schooled as a stage actress. She eventually landed on television in mostly guest star roles and a handful of smaller roles in film. However, before all that began, she did receive an offer from Salvador Dali to model for him for a particular project, but Dali’s wife would ultimately poo pooed the project and it was canceled. She’s also a supporter of environmental and animal rights issues. She’s also a designer of fragrances. She ultimately designed a fragrance that has some not-so-insignificant fans (including the likes of Paula Abdul and Terri Hatcher).

Uh…  So, how to tiptoe around this…  Um…  Maybe I should just dive right into the deep end for this week’s B-Movie Enema.

First off, let me say Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all my lovely Enemaniacs!  Next, this week’s movie, 2019’s Black Christmas, garnered a considerable amount of talk last year.  I don’t think I can avoid this talk, so I have to touch upon some touchy subjects.  I don’t doubt that all the people out there in the world who have come across this blog have a varying degree of points of view on social and political topics.  I’d be a real big idiot to think everyone who reads my blog share my exact views.  I suspect the same (maybe not the idiot part) should apply in the other way.  It usually doesn’t turn out all that well when people who go to a website begin making assumptions of what the author or content creator’s opinions on varying topics are.

That said, I do try very very hard to separate the creator from the content.  Unless the content is particularly bad or saying really harmful things, I have to separate that creator from what is produced or I’d drive myself insane.  I feel like we live in a world where this is becoming more and more of an increasing issue.  So, just keep in mind what I’m going to put into this article may or may not jibe with all your personal views, but I don’t think that should be too much of a problem.
