Sleepover (2016)

“It was supposed to be a fun night…”

I know that feeling.  I get that every time I sit down to write one of these damn blog posts.  It was supposed to be a fun night.  Then it goes to shit and I watch crappy movies and dissect them.  Oh well, it’s my cross to bear.

I return to the world of Amazon Prime to explore more horror movies made in the 2000s.  This one, I admit, has something going for it.  Yeah, last week I watched a horror movie that followed an overused idea that what you saw was “based on true events” when, in fact, it’s almost entirely bullshit.  Horror movies still do that by the way.  But I think most will say that the Conjuring movies are generally well made and get the pass for being as good as they are. The Beckoning (2006)

Now that I’ve washed my hands of “Full Moon Fever” last month, it’s time to move forward with B-Movie Enema.

For this month, I had to wonder what it was I would do for movies.  Seems like January had a series of movies that had bad things happen to good girls.  February was dedicated to Charles Band and his Full Moon Features.  I know April will be Phoebe Cates Month.

Oh…  Spoiler Alert!  April is Phoebe Cates Month. Continue reading “The Beckoning (2006)”

Deadly Sins (1995)

Welcome back to Alyssa Milano Month here at B-Movie Enema.  Today, we’re going to look at Deadly Sins – a Catholic thriller/slasher flick.

Back when I worked at a video store, I know I saw this movie on the shelf and thought to myself, “I like what I’m seeing here with Alyssa’s face and that little hint of cleavage.  I’ll have to check this out.”  Well, twenty years later, I’m finally checking it out.  I guess better late than never, eh? Dementia 13 (1963)

This week, I decided to give myself a treat.  Yes, if I look at four of the last seven weeks, I’ve had a pretty good run of movies that were at least pretty enjoyable and worthy of saying I liked.  However, I’m in charge of this damn blog so when I want to treat myself to a better movie, then goddammit, that’s my prerogative.

So let’s talk about Francis Ford Coppola.  He’s a maker of fine films like Jack, Captain EO, and Godfather III: The Revenge.  He also makes either wine or grape jelly – or BOTH…?  He also made Sofia Coppola who made a fine movie that no one knows what the fucking last line of is but I bet it’s juuuuust right.
